Meet the Editorial Team



Armin S.
Editor-in-Chief

Armin is an Assistant Crown Attorney for the Province of Ontario by day, and by night, she is the editor-in-chief of Bollywood Film Fame Canada. Graduating from York University with her Hons B.A., she went onto receive her Juris Doctor from the University of Windsor – Faculty of Law. She is currently completing her Masters of Law part-time at Osgoode Hall Law School.


Armin and her sister, Asis, have always collaborated on various creative projects, their first being a dance studio, A2A, where both taught dance at the ages of 11 and 15 years respectively, for about seven years. The two have performed as background dancers for Bollywood celebrities at various concerts such as Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Sushmita Sen, Hans Raj Hans, and many more.  Bollywood Film Fame Canada is also a collaboration between the two of them, where Armin does the writing, and Asis takes over the creative designing department in large part.


When Armin isn’t in court and isn’t on the phone interviewing celebrities, she volunteers her time as the Regional Manager for Avanti Women, an organization focused on empowerment and opportunity for women. In her spare time, you will find her dancing or cheering on one of her favourite sports teams. She coaches soccer in the summers and is a huge basketball, hockey, and tennis enthusiast. She likes to experiment in the kitchen with lots of spices. To relax, she likes doing hot yoga and then watching YouTube videos of various dancers or reading a book right before going to sleep.


Her favourite interviews in the past year have been: Madhuri Dixit-Nene, Priyanka Chopra, Lauren Gottlieb, Taapsee Pannu, and Prakash Jha.


Asis Sethi

Asis Sethi is a visual and creative mind, who long stood in front of the camera for a mainstream diversity channel in Canada as a host, but is now back at her roots of being behind the camera. She studied Film & Television Production for five years and worked on a series of projects behind the scenes, including directing short films and script-writing.


She started off her creative journey as the founder of A2A, alongside Armin, who she has partnered up with on various creative endeavours. Asis is known for her ever-smiling personality which shines through on camera and on voice-overs. But she is also known for directing and producing a series of commercials, and her very own documentary series, Darshan Dekh Jeevan,which took Asis and her family through historical Gurudwaras in India and delved into the history of Sikhism. The documentary series continues to air on mainstream television.


Asis loves interviewing everyone who makes a project behind-the-scenes but her outgoing personality lands her in the dancing world as well. She still shakes a leg with her sister when she has time. Otherwise, she loves baking all sorts of goodies that would satisfy any sweet tooth. Her favourite interviews in the past year have been: Rajkumar Hirani, Shoojit Sircar, and Varun Dhawan.



Shwayta Sharma
Social Media Manager/Journalist



Shwayta has an infectious smile and an observant personality. She knows what works and what doesn’t. She is a recent graduate of Social Media Marketing from George Brown College, and also completed a certificate in Film Studies from Ryerson University after completing a Bachelors of Human Resources Management from York University. She has an inherent passion for all things Bollywood, which makes her the perfect go-to person to give us the latest news on the big world of celebrities.


Shwayta also sings in the community and has been doing so from an early age. She has sung in both Hindi (Bollywood Songs) and English at several events such as Canada's Diversity Celebration hosted by Mr. Joe Li (Regional Councillor of Markham), Charitable Events, Diwali Events,  India Independence Day Events, All Women of India in Canada (AWIC) Events and Panorama India Events. She has sung at various venues such as the Air Canada Centre, the Ricoh Coliseum, the Flato Markham Theatre, the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and the Rogers Centre and have sung in front of dignitaries such as Honourable Kathleen Wynne, Right Honourable Jean Chrétien and Right Honourable Paul Martin. 


Shweta Kulkarni

Shweta Kulkarni is a dreamer, wanderer, and writer who is captivated by the fascinating world of cinema.  She has been passionately writing about films and celebrities for over a decade and often indulges in some travel and lifestyle writing too. Shweta often interviews celebrities in Mumbai, and also writes movie reviews for The Verdict for Bollywood Film Fame Canada. Charismatic and honest, her opinions are always worth the read. Her favourite interviews in the past year have been: Vidya Balan, Boman Irani, Purab Kohli, and Sonakshi Sinha 


Niva Sandhu
Community Writer


Niva graduated with a Masters in Critical Sociology from Brock University and now works as a Program Coordinator for Seva Food Bank.  Niva oversees the food bank program as well as implements client programming that targets root causes of food insecurity. Niva has over seven years of experience working in various social service fields such as Mental Health, Addictions, Sexual Health and Food Security. She has always been passionate about social justice issues, which is why she loves to work in the social service sector as an advocate for the client.  


Because of her passion, Niva also loves to writes about social issues that negatively impact the community at large and so, contributes to Community Section for Bollywood Film Fame Canada. She also sits on the Positive Space Coalition of Peel to increase awareness and access to GLBTQ services and supports. In her spare time, Niva likes to take care of herself by incorporating various self-care techniques, she regularly attends yoga classes and loves to read.

She has this inherent knack for cooking up a storm in the kitchen. And she loves making new things. So she brings us Masala Corner, in which she provides some innovative recipes to the readers to enjoy.


Daman, in her past life, was a teacher, receiving her Bachelor of Arts, Bachelors of Education, and Masters of Education. She currently works in the Accounts Department for a leading company in Canada. She is deeply spiritual and loves spending time with her family and cooking for her family. She also loves her two cats!
