Will Karan Johar no longer have item numbers in his films?

Karan Johar known to be quite an outspoken celebrity. He is definitely one to never shy away from speaking his mind to the media. He’s opinionated and is not scared to share his point of view with the world. In the past, we have seen him speak his mind about topics ranging from nepotism to internet trolls.

In light of recent events in Hollywood, Karan Johar has now apologized for including item songs in his movies. In a recent interview, Karan spoke at length about Feminism, gender wage gap, female objectification and the infamous Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse case.

Karan went on to reveal, “The moment you put a woman in the center and a thousand men looking at her lustingly, it’s setting the wrong example. As a filmmaker, I have made those mistakes and I will never do it again.”

It is great to see a filmmaker like Karan commit to refrain from showing women as objects of desire. We hope other directors also follow suit.
