As you all know, Sanjay Dutt’s biopic Sanju has garnered massive commercial and critical success after its release. A colourful retelling of Sanjay Dutt’s personal struggles with drugs, alcohol and criminal prosecution, the film is on its way to becoming a huge blockbuster. Majority of the film focuses on the actor’s relationship with his father Sunil Dutt, who is played by Paresh Rawal. The film is also a testimony to Sanjay Dutt’s relationship with his US-based best friend Paresh Ghelani, who is played by Vicky Kaushal in Sanju

Along with Ranbir, the
critics as well as the audience,
has also appreciated Vicky Kaushal’s performance in the film.

During a recent interview, Vicky revealed that the character of Kamli is a mash-up of four friends of Sanjay Dutt. He said, “I play a Gujarati fellow Kamlesh Kanhaiyalal Kapasi. The character is an amalgamation of three or four of Sanjay Dutt’s closest friends in real life but primarily the character is based on Paresh Ghelani who is based in the US. He lives and works there.”

He also added that working with a director like Rajkumar Hirani is a dream come true. He revealed, “Shooting for Sanju was an incredible process. Firstly, for me, it was a dream come true to be working with Rajkumar Hirani and Ranbir Kapoor in the same film. These are the two people I admire, respect and adore. Also, while working I
realised they are beautiful human beings. So, it was an amazing and a learning experience. Also, it was amazing to know Sanju sir’s life so personally by being a part of the film.”
