Parineeti Chopra to star opposite Sidharth Malhotra in Shortgun Shaadi?

As you may recall, Shraddha Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra last appeared together in Mohit Suri’s Ek Villain and the duo’s chemistry was much loved by the audiences. Considering the audience's response, Ekta Kapoor decided to bring them back together on the silver screen for a reunion of sorts. The filmmaker even approached Shraddha for her film Shotgun Shaadi opposite Sidharth Malhotra.

But from what we hear, Shraddha turned down the offer and won’t be seen opposite Sidharth in the film. Reportedly, the actress heard the script and initially showed interest in the story. However, it is now being said that makers of the film have approached Parineeti Chopra to play the female lead.

Based on the issue of groom kidnapping in Bihar, Shotgun Shaadi will be directed by debutant Prashant Singh who was a former assistant to Aanand L Rai. Parineeti and Sidharth’s chemistry was loved by their fans in Hasee Toh Phasee which was why Ekta decided to approach Parineeti for the film.

It was earlier reported that Ekta Kapoor had also approached Kriti Sanon for the same role. However, Kriti also turned down the role citing date issues. The source further added that Parineeti has already heard the script and has liked it a lot.

Other than this, Parineeti will also be seen in Vipul Shah’s Namastey England opposite Arjun Kapoor and Dharma Productions' Kesari alongside Akshay Kumar.
